About Me

Born in tumultuous 1968, rebellion and change lives in me, as do images of 1970’s Bob Mackie-adorned Cher, Diana Ross’ powerful voice, drive-in movies with paper grocery bags full of popcorn, sleep-away camp where I had my 1st kiss, kick ball, Judy Blume, and Peggy Parish’s Amelia Bedelia chapter books.

There are also scars from an abusive childhood that led to more scars in adulthood, but that does not make me unique. As a child I told myself stories of my future, tales of a ranch home with trees in the yard and big garden. It did not come as easy as I’d imagined, nor as quickly, and it doesn’t look exactly the same (no white picket fence, haha).

Planting sunflowers in the garden with my grandson.
Red maple in the back yard. There are 2 statuesque silver maples in the front yard.

I totally understand your yearning to write. Life would be so much more traquil if I could lose my own yearning, but Ican’t. Writing is more than fun (or purgatory) for those with the yearning: It’s bread and water.
